My name is April Moore (Tupper), I live in Wisconsin, and I attend Western Technical Colleges as a full-time student graduating May 2013 with an AAS Business Managemenet Degree. The creation of this e-portfolio website and blog was part of an assignment for a course I took at WTC, “Writing for the Electronic Medium”. This was the first time I was introduced to the world of blogging or website creation of any sort. It was tough however was well worth sticking it out and has given me countless tools and skill I will undoubtably find useful and will benefit my future success in the business industry in years to come.Besides working toward a BM degree, I graduated May 2011 with an AAS Supervisory Management with several additional certificates. Outside the educational realm, I am a dedicated and proud mother to twin 12-year old boys, am newly married to the man of my dreams and best friend, and enjoy family fun and caring for our weird assortment of pets We currently have several lizard species and tarantulas, some amphibians, and a few furry creatures as well.
I am an optimist and big on positive thinking. I make the daily conscious effort to be this way and maintain a positive attitude and outlook despite the worst of situations that come my way. I consider myself to be the luckiest unlucky person alive. Many people have the attitude that “things can’t get any worse” however I on the other hand like to think about it as “Things could be much worse”. This mindset makes me think about how things could indeed be worse, and are for many, and therefore leaves me to appreciate the situation for what its worth and sheds a different perspective of any situation.
Writing and Learning have always been joys of mine and so pursuing my education has been an absolute delight even in its most difficult moments. Furthermore, the value of an education in today’s world and being able to undertake this path has been an incredible opportunity and will prove to contribute to my success. Being the first in my family to attend and graduate with a degree is a great feeling and will serve as a prime influence in how my own children take on their academic adventure. Now, if only I can land that big dream career to satisfy the needs of my family and future successful life. But then again…..what would I do then?
